OK...we give in

I was kind of hoping for a smaller SIRIUS ad here, but it is far better than the last on which could hardly be seen. Nonetheless, go ahead and click on the ad and get yourself one of them there Sirius Radios.

But, from the choices I had, it was the smallest one-as I did not want an overhead banner the width of the entire screen.

Episode 93: Neil Young, more on the Dixie Chicks, Prince on American Idol, and the war goes on and on and on...

listen here

After a bad rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama," we chat about Neil Young's new anti-war album, and again, the Dixie Chicks-as some idiot from Arizona still disagrees with them. You can read the article for yourself in the notebook.

Also, Abu Snookums and Uncle Dan disagree on the meaning of Prince's appearance on American Idol...Snookums liked it, but it made Uncle Dan feel that Prince has lost some credibility. You can write in and share your opinion.

Plus, Abu Snookums shares a story of a poor guy who drowned at Caesar's Creek last week.

Lastly we talk about the American Marines who murdered Iraqi civilians last November. This article is also available in the notebook.

MAN it is HOT in the WC today...and...if you care, you can scroll down and see what the weather is in the WC whenever you wish!

Episode 92: Have we lost our edge?

listen here

Welcome to some of our new listeners! And scroll down to click and help to save the internet from the godawful COPE Act. We mentioned one of the 'scenesters' from my days in Chicago, "Rotten Milk" and the fun-filled Chicago underground music scene.

Also, in the notebook is a good article about Global Warming and the widening tropics...so deserts are growing and the oceans are heating up!

And, we discuss Rapture insurance-all about insuring you and your loved ones for the upcoming Rapture. What a great scam this is! Oh well, some creep is getting rich selling rapture insurance to poor unsuspecting Christians.

Finally we chat briefly about the '24' finale as well as 'The Da Vinci Code' and what a crappy book it is, and hoping the movie will be significantly less crappy.

Capitalist update

Well, we surrender. At first I felt as if I was being high minded by keeping the site ad-free and relying on the good hearts of the public out there to send us some cash via the Paypal donation box (which is still there by the way). But, why not offer you fine folks a little something in return, right?

So, we have given in, somewhat to capitalism...I'm sure the Hippie Killers would be proud. Eh, whatever, it IS the good ol' USA after all.

Plus, the DISH network airs Al-Jazeera-so THERE, and also "Democracy Now" so, yes-we get through this with our leftist 'cred' intact!

Look for a new episode within two days.

Episode 91: New found fame, and the Hippie Killers

listen here

Well, our big article was published today-and we relish in our new found glory! Check out the notebook and read the article for yourself, and let us know what you think. The year we started was innacurate-but we are the biggest story in town-pretty exciting.

Along the way we talk about the 'topic du jour', immigration-as the W.C. is clamping down as well-I'm sure a wall is being planned.

Also, our arch-ememies, the Hippie Killers have decided to 'tear us a new one.' Be sure to listen to see how we have survived. Listen in as we read for you the letter that Mark sent to us, acting like a tough guy!

NEW!-Resources through Google Notebook

As an experiment, we are adding a new feature to Radio W.C.-the brand new Google Notebook. On our Notebook page you will find recources for our stories we cover here, as well as stuff we don't. Usually the link will appear on the right side of the page, and the notebook may even be updated more often than Radio W.C.-so check often!

We will see how well this goes over, but I think it will be quite interesting. On there you will find the stoies that we discuss-or, well, whatever the hell we feel like putting up there. Basically, if I find something interesting online-I'll make a note in the notebook for you all to see.

We would love feedback from you all as to how well you like this new feature.

Episode 90: The Who, Dixie Chicks, democracy, and mathematics

listen here

We start out by playing music from 'The Who,' and then talk about the Dixie Chicks on 60 Minutes-and we talk about music and democracy and rednecks. Uncle Dan also reveals that he likes that song 'You're Beautiful' by James Blunt.

Then we get into an odd discussion of mathematics, and whether our system of base 10 is really sufficient-and thinking back, some of it got a little rediculous (even though it sounded cool, in reality, Base Pi makes NO sense). Also, Uncle Dan thinks we need a new temperature scale.

And finally-switch your phones to Qwest Communications, and tell your senators and congressmen that you are against the COPE act that is going to screw up the internet.

Episode 89: Thanks for the article, more on Moussaoui, and much more!

listen here

Once again, thanks to Daniel Wells and Linda the photographer from the Western Star for the fun interview the other day.

Also, some things with Moussaoui changed since Abu Snookums wrote his peice below-the guy is just a nutcase! And that devolves into tangents about justice-and gay marriage. We also delve into a recent Dateline NBC episode (amazingly NOT about internet predators)-and by the way, the kid's name is Cody Posey.

Finally, Ralph the cat has been accused of a crime he didn't commit! I firmly believe that he has been framed, and made to be a scapegoat by Grandma.

Episode 88: We return better than ever!

listen here

This episode was recorded during an interview with the great journalist Daniel Wells and photographer Linda from the local paper "The Western Star." So we learn a lot about the paper, and through the interview, a lot about Uncle Dan and Abu Snookums that you did not know.

I think we may have to change Snookums name to Abu Jr.

Much of the episode is a bit of a recap for our stalwart fans, but we do offer a bit on the recent primary elections.

So enjoy this unique episode and I PROMISE that we will be on more often!!
